Following the recent announcement of Dream Escape’s London office expansion and the addition of Sally Strange to our team, Dream Escape have been out and about in London sampling the culinary delights of the city.
The team were very kindly hosted by the Doyle Collection at the Kensington Hotel for an indulgent afternoon tea. Their latest offering takes inspiration from the iconic and historical landmarks for which London is famous.

The Menu is a celebration of London and the tasty scones, sandwiches and sweets stood proudly on a London Eye inspired tea stand and were heartily enjoyed by all.
For a Royal flavour, indulge the taste buds at The Rubens at the Palace for a Royal Afternoon Tea where you can sit in the Palace Lounge overlooking the Mews at Buckingham Palace. Enjoy the Queen’s favourite’s of lemon curd, peaches and Gin and Dubonnet which have inpspired this delicious menu.
Other notable afternoon tea offerings include the award winning ‘Art Afternoon Tea‘ at the Mirror Room in the Rosewood Hotel, London which is inspired by some of the Van Gogh’s most famous masterpieces including Sunflowers, The Starry Night and Almond Blossoms. Little ones can also enjoy an art inspired culinary treat. Equipped with a painter’s palette, paint tubes filled with jam and lemon curd and palette knives to spread the sweet toppings, the tiny artists will be able to enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches and art inspired pastries especially designed for them.

Further afield, our recent trips to Ireland hosting educational trips for Joanna Heathcote and Companies and Valerie Wilson Travel have given us the wonderful opportunity to explore culinary options and hidden foodie gems in Ireland. Whether it’s an elegant celebration dinner or authentic and home-made we have it covered.
Ireland is renowned for its seafood and Galway is the centre of the foodie revival. Enjoy oysters at source with a private tour and tasting. Led by a marine biologist, this tour includes a lesson in how oysters are grown and harvested, plus a demonstration on how to shuck them. Alternatively, enjoy lunch in a wonderful thatched cottage with Galway Oyster Shucking champ in family. Have a chat and find out about the different types of oysters and see an expert shucking demonstration.
Discover chocolate being made in small batches using rare Trinitario cacao beans and raw sugar on a 45-minute tour of cottage-housed chocolate factory in a picturesque hillside location.
Then onto another farm for artisan ice cream! In our opinion this is a pretty special place making a pretty special product, with the milk sourced from their Burren native shorthorn cows and as many ingredients as possible sourced from the Burren. The owner makes her own honeycomb, wild berry purees from local fruits and uses many other local ingredients as possible, such as seasonal apples, rhubarb and hazelnuts which are plentiful.
