VIEW ALL HIGHLIGHTS

Day One: The Playground of the Gods

On arrival at Edinburgh International Airport, you will be met by your chauffeur-guide and driven north to the world renowned Gleneagles resort.

Day Two: Country Pursuits

Spend the day at leisure. Perhaps participate in a new challenge or a familiar pastime. Options include 4×4 off road driving, equestrian activities, falconry, gun dog school activities and fishing.

Day Three: Scotland's Spectacular Scenery - Your Day, Your Way

Option One:

Soak up the sights from the comfort of your chauffeur-driven four wheel drive vehicle. Your Safari Ranger will bring you to an exclusive location 2500ft high on the hills above Loch Rannoch and Loch Tummel, offering dramatic views towards Ben Nevis some 50 miles to the west.

Here on the mountain slopes, enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch served from wicker baskets. You may even be lucky enough to see the majestic Red Deer, the Famous Grouse, the elusive Mountain Hare and the soaring Golden Eagle.

Option Two:

Get behind the wheel of some fabulous classic cars to experience an exhilarating taste of Scotland – from monuments to mountains and everything in between!

Classic Cars include: Morgan 4/4, Austin Healey 3000 MK111 BJ8 and Jaguar MK11

Your driving experience will take you to the ‘Trossachs’, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where you can find towering peaks and deep wooded glens, as well as babbling streams and rivers which run into magnificent lochs.
Spot the famous Wallace Monument, follow the Ochil hills, and enjoy great views of mighty Stirling Castle – perhaps one of Scotland’s most important castles as whoever ruled here, often ruled the nation.

Day Four: Edinburgh - Your Day, Your Way

Enjoy a day trip to Edinburgh, Scotland’s historic capital city.

Explore Edinburgh Castle and the Esplanade – keep an eye out for the imposing statues of Robert the Bruce and William Wallace. Step inside the ancient walls and learn of the royalty who lived and died here and the struggles for control of the nation then take a stroll along the Royal Mile, which lies at the heart of the Old Town and is arguably one of the most famous streets in the world.

We fully appreciate that in a large multigenerational gathering, not all family members will have the same interests and passions. Therefore, we propose a variety of activities to select from.

Highlights include a visit to the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, a private guided tour of Royal Edinburgh and storytelling which will bring to life the grisly chapter of history to life in a private Gallows to Graveyard guided tour.

At the end of the day, your chauffeur will return you to Gleneagles for a final evening.

Day Five: Via Lomond to Ayrshire

Depart Gleneagles and head west to Loch Lomond, one of the country’s most famous stretches of water. To fully appreciate the waters, two fabulous activities beckon. First step aboard a sea plane and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the water from a cruising altitude of 500ft

Flying low over the magnificent Trossachs National Park opens up sublime landscapes, unveiling hidden lochs, glorious glens and forbidding stone castles. In the distance, you can glimpse craggy islands among sparkling waves.

To follow, enjoy a private leisurely motor cruise on the water. Cruise past the loch’s many islands, including Inchmurrin and see the hidden coves situated on the banks of the loch. The scenery is beautiful at any time of year, and there can be no better way to experience it than from a luxury motor cruiser with a glass of champagne in hand.

At the end of the day, you will arrive at your final accommodation, Blair Estate, which will be reserved exclusively for your use. The property itself is situated in within acres of grounds, featuring peaceful woodlands, sweeping lawns and beautiful gardens.

This evening, dinner will be a testament to Scotland’s larder. Wonderful produce from the sea and the land featuring fabulous fish, seafood with seasonal game and meat dishes will be served.

Day Six: Robert Burns

Travel to Alloway. This small, unassuming town is the birthplace and home of Scotland’s national Bard – Robert Burns. Enjoy an exclusive tour of Burns Cottage which concludes in the byre where a delicious breakfast will be served.

The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum also offers a truly unique encounter with Scotland’s favourite son, and again it would be opened exclusively. A private guided tour by one of the Directors will also take you behind the scenes and even provide you with the unique experience of holding priceless pieces of work, penned by the man himself.

A special celebration will be arranged for your final evening including a charming performance by a bagpiper and Highland dancer, resplendent in full dress. During dinner a kilted performer will recite the infamous “Address to the Haggis” – an amusing poem by our famed poet Robert Burns and local resident.

The evening concludes with a spectacular display. See a pipe band marching and drumming as they perform a military ceremony known as Beating Retreat. This dates back to the 16th century and was first used to recall nearby patrolling units to their castle. The drums echoing around the estate make for a stirring and emotional finale to your time in Scotland.

Day Seven: Homeward Bound

Your chauffeur-guide will accompany you to Glasgow Airport where you will board your flight for onward travel.

PLACES VISITED

GLENEAGLES-FAMILY

When Gleneagles first opened its doors in 1924, it was quickly dubbed the Playground of the Gods. Today, its claim to that title is undiminished: experience for yourself the divine setting, dining and facilities of the hotel. As the saying goes, “There are many beautiful places in the world. There are many great hotels. There are many famous golf courses and resorts. There is only one Gleneagles”.

Having won “Best of the Best Family Programme” at the 2013 Virtuoso Awards and “Best Family Hotel” at the 2014 Junior Design Awards, as well as high praise from Condé Nast Traveller, it is little surprise that the resort’s family-oriented activities are nothing short of amazing.

THE TROSSACHS

The ‘Trossachs’, are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Straddling the border between the Highlands and Lowlands, the Trossachs is often referred to as Scotland in Miniature – within a few miles, you can find towering peaks and deep wooded glens, as well as babbling streams and rivers which run into magnificent lochs.

EDINBURGH

Scotland’s historic capital city. Edinburgh, sometimes referred to as the “Athens of the North”, is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It has two distinct areas: the Old Town, dominated by a medieval fortress; and the neo- classical New Town, dating from the 18th The harmonious connection of these two contrasting historic areas, each with many important buildings, is what gives the city its unique character and saw it awarded World Heritage Site status by UNESCO in 1995.

The Royal Mile, which lies at the heart of the Old Town is arguably one of the most famous streets in the world. Today, it is peppered with stores selling cashmere goods and hand crafted silver jewellery. However, in centuries gone by it was a different story: delving into the Old Town is like leafing through the pages of a dusty historical novel, as each era unfolds with its own legends and characters.

LOCH LOMOND

Loch Lomond is one of the Scotland’s most famous stretches of water. Formed during the last Ice Age, the north is dominated by mountainous peaks and a scattering of islands can be found at the southern shores.

The loch is steeped in history and has inspired artists, poets and writers for centuries. Praised by such figures as Robert Burns and Gerard Manley Hopkins as well as being the focus of the ever-popular song “The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond”, which closes many a night of revelry, it has earned its place in Scottish culture both high and low.
