OVERVIEW

Corrour is a remote 57,000 acre Highland estate on the edge of Rannoch Moor. The nearest public road is 17 miles from our train station, Corrour – a stop in the middle of nowhere. Before the nineteenth century, it was a wilderness where shepherds summered their flocks of sheep and drovers took their cattle to market. Today, it is  a sporting estate that combines gentle and thoughtful land management with traditional Scottish values of hospitality and inclusivity.

With beautiful landscapes, abundant wildlife, peaceful nights, and remarkable starscapes, Corrour is the ultimate wilderness escape.

TOP 5 EXPERIENCES

1. Jump in the loch and have a sauna right on the water.
2. Hike up a munro and fish for wild trout.
3. Try your hand at long range rifle shooting.
4. Cycle to the ‘UK’s Remotest Restaurant’ – the Station House on the Estate for lunch.
5. Curl up and read a book surrounded by beautiful works of art and interiors.

The Lodge.

The lodge combines contemporary luxury with a rural wilderness on a grand scale. The Loch Ossian lodge has seven en-suite bedrooms and a bunk room for fourteen children designed by Pinewood Studios.

The dining hall seats up to 40 and there are beautiful sitting rooms, quiet libraries and studies, as well as a games room, traditional Swedish sauna and a rooftop cedar hot tub. The lodge combines contemporary luxury with a rural wilderness on a grand scale.

The Cottages.

Eleven miles down a private track, our secluded nineteenth-century, slate-roof stone cottages – originally built for estate workers – nestle between lochs and hills.  Recently renovated, they blend traditional features with modern comforts.

Some have original pine-clad walls and wooden floors, and most have open fireplaces or wood-burning stoves. Furnished with beautiful antiques, they are impeccably maintained.

Our houses sleep between three and eleven and are ideal for reunions, holidays, celebrations and team getaways.

ACTIVITIES

Corrour is about experiencing Scottish wilderness in its natural glory all year round.

Walking :

The hiking, walking and climbing at Corrour are outstanding.  You can easily access over 20 Munros and many Corbetts and Grahams from the estate.

Fishing, Boating & Wild Swimming :

Corrour’s lochs and burns are home to wild trout and pike.  You can fish from the banks, or from a rowing boat.  Our ghillies are on hand for lessons or advice.  Off-bank fishing permits are included for lodge and house guests.

Taking a canoe or rowing boat onto the loch is a wonderful way to relax at Corrour. Spend an afternoon exploring Loch Ossian, setting your pace as you enjoy the wild, natural beauty.  There are small sandy beaches and islands that are perfect for a picnic.  If you’re lucky you may even spot an otter or a black-throated diver!

Why not go for a swim in one of our many lochs and burns …. Our wild swimming is remarkable, even addictive!

Sauna:

The cottages’ guests can enjoy the Scandinavian Sauna Cabin to warm up after the outdoor activities.
