Sheen Falls Lodge, a privately owned 5 star country house is fortunate to be located in one of the most beautiful places in the world.  Situated on the Wild Atlantic Way in the bay of Kenmare, there are views of cascading waterfalls, the delightful bay itself and also the magnificent McGillicuddy Reeks, the highest mountain range in Ireland looming in the distant sky.

ACCOMMODATION

Superior / Deluxe Room

Spacious, relaxed and luxurious. Superior Rooms are similar to the Deluxe Rooms, but with extra space and better views of the waterfall. Perhaps settle into an easy chair and watch the water cascade beneath the bridge. Each of the rooms are decorated with pieces handmade by local artisans from the furniture to the art on the walls.

Estate Rooms

Estate Room are the perfect place to relax with an open-plan room and plenty of space for a family or couple planning a longer stay.  From the sitting area, admire the changing landscape as the bay ebbs and flows, bringing seals at high tide and birdlife at low.

Suites

Luxurious Suites provide a comfortable base from which to explore the area, and are complete with truly magnificent views, comfortable furnishings and spacious interiors.

Signature Suites

Stay in one of the luxurious Signature Suites with unique features to enhance your stay. Whether it’s a wall of windows facing the waterfall, an open fireplace warming the room, or a balcony looking over the River Sheen

The Landsdowne Suite

The Landsdowne Suite is the perfect elegant accommodation. Enter through the secluded Georgian-style entrance to a beautiful lounge, open plan kitchen and dining room. Large bay windows provide a spectacular view of Kenmare Bay

Falls Master Suite

Reside in the architecturally stunning Falls Master Suite, complete with twenty-foot high ceilings and oculus. Exclusively furnished by commissioned Irish and European craftsmen, the room is truly unique. Relax in your king-size bed, or perhaps make use of the suite’s Jacuzzi or private bar.

DINING

Home-smoked salmon caught on the estate, seafood from Castletownbere and organic vegetables from suppliers just down the lane. Sheen Falls Lodge is home to one of the finest Kenmare restaurants; perhaps even the best restaurants in Ireland. Here, there’s a culinary feast of fresh, local produce that few can rival.

Salmon fishing on a private stretch of the River Sheen

With 15 miles of outstanding fishing on the estate alone, you can almost feel the twitch of the line from your bedroom window. With plentiful lakes nearby too, salmon, trout and fly fishing are all possible here. Just keep an eye on Oscar the heron, says our resident instructor.

Horse riding holidays in dramatic countryside

Equestrian enthusiasts of all ages and abilities can take to the saddle and canter along carefully chosen river-side trails or trek through forested mountain paths – a unique opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the estate.

World-class golf courses

County Kerry is a golfers dream with it’s picturesque location and proximity to many world class courses.

Kayaking and Paddle Boarding

Glide along Kenmare Bay and paddle amongst the reeds up the Roughty River on a guided kayak trip. This is a fun and informative excursion, with an abundance of wildlife waiting to be seen. Go for the Sunset Kayak to see the water sparkle with bioluminescence.

Falconry

Our guided Hawk Walks will take you on a stroll through the estate where you can watch, handle and fly these awesome birds for yourself.

Archery

With the help of Jamie and Colin master the ancient craft of Archery, our newest activity on offer. You’ll be sure to hit the targets with accuracy, control, concentration and a cool head.

Clay pigeon shooting

Perfect your aim, sharpen your reactions and experience the unrivalled thrill of a shoot. Your instructor will be on hand to offer advice and all of the necessary equipment to ensure you can safely enjoy this exciting sport.

Hill walking

With intimate knowledge of the surrounding landscapes, join a walking guides and ramble through some of Ireland’s most rugged scenic locations. From relaxed routes on the Beara Peninsula to long-distance hikes on The Kerry Way or Wild Atlantic Way.

Tennis

All-weather, floodlit Savanna Tennis Court is ideally placed overlooking Kenmare Bay, offering superb views of the ebbing tide and the local wildlife as you play

Spa

For a relaxing treatment visit the property’s safe haven of tranquillity, the Easanna Spa.
