OVERVIEW

The Merrion Hotel has a place of honour amongst the Dublin hotel scene. Located in a beautifully restored and well located Georgian building, its relaxed elegance offers a home from home for its guests.

Containing 145 guest rooms and suites, they have all been carefully designed and furnished using Irish fabrics and antiques to reflect and enrich the original 18th century features and architecture. Throughout, great care has been taken to retain all the outstanding architectural features for which Georgian Dublin is so famous: intricate plasterwork, high ceilings and large windows.

The hotel also contains one of the most impressive collections of contemporary art in the whole city.

The two period gardens offer a hidden-away oasis of peace and tranquility. Both gardens, designed by prominent Irish landscape artist Jim Reynolds, re-create the feel of the 18th century, with box hedges, water features, pathways to stroll along and statuary to admire.

ACCOMMODATION

Merrion Queen Room

Situated in the Garden Wing of the hotel, these rooms offer exquisite city views. These 330 square foot rooms are inspired by the landscape paintings of renowned Irish artist Paul Henry with palettes of light blues and soft greys. Each room has a queen-sized bed and a generously sized marble bathroom.

Superior King Room

Also located in the Garden Wing, these garden-facing rooms have king-sized beds and 366 square feet of space. The views are the true star of these rooms which also follow a Paul Henry inspired design scheme.

Deluxe King Room

These top floor rooms in the Main House offer 430 square feet of comfort and luxury. Decorated with furnishing and fabrics in keeping with the 18th century features of the hotel, each room has a large ensuite bathroom with magnificent views over the government buildings or the Merrion’s gardens.

Junior Suite

Located mainly on the first floor of the Georgian Main House, the Junior Suites continue the period style found throughout the rest of The Merrion. A king bed sized at well over six foot wide is complemented by a spacious room.

Merrion Suite

These 682 square foot one-bedroom suites are located on the first floor of the Main House. Each suite has a sitting area with a dining table, sofas, armchairs and a beautiful Georgian fireplace. The bathroom comes with both a separate bath tub and shower.

Garden Wing Suite

These 800 square foot suites are a perfect family option, coming in either one or two bedroom layouts which can be made up with either king or twin beds. Each bedroom also comes with its own bathroom. The shared sitting rooms offers a dining table as well as a sofa and two armchairs.

Speciality Suite

The Lord Monck and Lord Antrim suites are amongst the finest in the city. Spacious and filled with natural light, they have been painstakingly restored to their period glory and contain a spacious bedroom, separate sitting area and large bathroom, as well as a second small multi-purpose room.

Penthouse Suite

This two-bedroom suite are specially designed for guests to whom privacy and independence are paramount. Accommodating up to five guests the suite comes with two bedrooms, a dining room, sitting room, marble-floored kitchen, three bathrooms, private music room and private roof terrace.

DINING

The Merrion has a range of dining options for all its guests.

The Cellar Bar offers a more informal, relaxed atmosphere that is great for a bite to eat at lunchtime.

Restaurant Patrick Guilband, has been a centre of fine dining in Dublin for decades, offering refined contemporary Irish cuisine.

No.23 is The Merrion’s intimate cocktail bar offering the atmosphere of a private club.

Afternoon Tea is also served each day in The Merrion’s Drawing Rooms – elegant surroundings in which you can enjoy delectable sweet treats.

The Merrion also offers a complimentary tour of its renowned art collection. Featuring more than ninety paintings from the 19th and 20th century, it is one of the most significant collections in Ireland. A well-researched and in-depth audio guide is available to lead you through the collection.

The Spa at The Merrion is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Equipped with a fitness centre, an infinity swimming pool, steam room, and sauna, a whole host of luxurious treatments are available for highly trained therapists.
