SAMPLE ITINERARY

The Crom Castle Experience with the 7th Earl of Erne

Whether you are a couple, a small group of friends or a large group up to sixteen people maximum, you can come and stay for a chosen period of time as if Lord Erne was having his own house party. You are his guests and a chance to spend quality time with him and enjoy warm and comfortable hospitality.

You will be warmly welcomed by Lord Erne in time for Afternoon Tea served in the Grand Drawing Room by Lord Erne’s personal staff whilst your luggage is brought up to one of the many comfortable and warmly decorated bedrooms and unpacked for you. The bedrooms range from large state bedrooms to generous doubles to twins, all with ensuite bathrooms.

After you have settled in relaxed and freshened up , cocktails will be served in The Grand Drawing Room before a delicious five course dinner prepared by the castle’s chef in The Oak Panelled Dining Room hosted as usual by Lord Erne.

Every evening after dinner, you can relax with your host and get to know the history of his family and life growing up in castle as a boy to now head of the family.

When you retire to bed at your own convenience, you will fall into a very comfortable bed which will have been turned down for you, hot water bottle and curtains drawn all in a traditional country house fashion.

Your first full day like any morning will start off with a traditional full Irish breakfast served in The Victorian Conservatory or State Dining Room before the day’s plans start to unfold.

Each day will be different and apart from meal times, your stay is carefully planned with your group from a very exclusive list of things that you might want to experience. A guided walk of the beautiful Crom Estate with your host or perhaps a boat ride on Lough Erne where you will see the estate and buildings from the water. There will be also during your stay, a guided tour of the house with his Lordship.

During your stay, The Earl may very well take you to tea nearby with his cousins who have a particularly beautiful garden. There could be a private visit to Castle Coole and a tour of this exceptional Georgian House by the current Earl of Belmore himself followed by a trip into the market town and Fermanagh’s capital, Enniskillen. Here you will visit Blake’s Bar, one of the oldest Irish pubs in Ireland where you can have a proper pint of Guinness followed by a delicious lunch downstairs.

Florence Court House, another beautiful historical building connected with The Earls of Erne is also on the agenda for a visit. Other suggestions could be a trip to the famous Belleek Pottery factory or some of you may wish to play a few rounds of golf at the five star Lough Erne Golf Resort. You may just want to go to the wonderful Colebrooke Spa for a massage or other treatment.

There will be wonderful down time at Crom Castle for you during your stay where you can do exactly what you want and just experience the comfort and hospitality of our home rather than a hotel. Check your emails, read a book in the library or the daily newspapers and if you want coffee or a drink, you only have to ask the staff who will only be too happy to help you. If you don’t want to do an excursion that is completely fine with us and you can stay at home and relax.

Northern Ireland Showcase

  • "One of the many highlights of our Ireland Educational Trip was without doubt our overnight at Crom Castle, owned by Lord Erne. Our first view of the castle was from our helicopter as we landed on their backyard. Truly a very special property and I recommend a full buyout for special gatherings of friends and families. So many activities can be enjoyed like boating, fishing, walks and hikes or reading a great book in one of the many sun-lit rooms. The highlight of our stay was being able to meet Lord Erne and his beautiful wife, and immerse ourselves with wonderful stories over drinks and dinner. Very seldom do you feel so at home in a castle and we did"
